These are my top three favorite ballparks and it’s not even close. You may be surprised by who made their way on to my list and who isn’t on the list. Before we truly get into it, let’s give it up for an honorable mention. Anaheim. Los Angeles Angels. I’m looking at you! I like you. I really do. Your parking is easy. Your food is tasty (hello, helmet nachos) and I think you’re beautiful. Truly. Every time I come, I expect to see Ohtani or Trout hit a home run and it has yet to happen. I understand that this is not a reason to not put Angels Stadium on the top three, but the stadiums I will share below beat Angels Stadium by a mile. I honestly don’t think that Angels Stadium, or any stadium for that matter can come close to these three. So, here we go in reverse order!
3. Fenway Park
Did you feel this one coming? Making it’s way to the three spot, is Fenway. Now, we all know I am the biggest Yankees fan on the face of the planet, but this charming little cutie has a little place in my heart. It’s nostalgic, it’s quaint, and it’s Fenway. I have been to Fenway twice; once with Bethany of Twenty Something Plus and once wit my girl Kailee of The Sports Passport. If you don’t know they are both Boston content creators that have become two of my closest friends. ANYWAY that’s besides the point, back to Fenway. What I love about Fenway is it’s location. It’s surrounded by things to do – food, entertainment and shopping. If you didn’t read my first Fenway post from 2019, I suggest you check it out here. In 2019, I stayed at the Verb Hotel which is super funky and close with rooms with a stadium view! I had a stadium view and loved it! My 2021 post focuses more on Boston in general if you are ever in town and just want something to do in general. I love Boston. They New York in me is like, ummmm, no ma’am. Boston is charming and cute and the history of it all makes it top notch.
The seats are tiny! They are the original seats and so those things are narrow for a girl my size. The Green Monster, really and truly is a monster. Although, it’s no Goliath cause Giancarlo Stanton has hit two homers over it (2:38 mark). Hahahah all Yankees/Red Sox banter aside, I do love this ballpark. Its a classic and a must see.
2. Wrigley Field
Are you seeing a trend here? If you have been around for a while, you know I’ve been to Wrigley twice and have done very different experiences. The first time I had traditional seats and then most recently I sat at the rooftops and that is an experience that I will do over and over again. Now, like Fenway, I found the Wrigley seats to not be as comfortable, but again it’s an oldie and a goodie. If you are headed to the game to have a good time with friends, then opt for the rooftops for an experience you’ll never regret. Of course I documented my experience for you here.
Food, drinks, and atmosphere all make this ballpark one of my favorites.
1. Yankee Stadium
I understand you already think I’m biased with this one but just hear me out. Yankee Stadium, is hands down my number one top MLB ballpark and it’s not even close. Granted I’ve only been to 10 ballparks at the time of this post, but Yankee Stadium is not the same experience every time you go. I have sat everywhere except for Legends. But just give me time, I will be row one behind home plate eventually. I have been in a suite, outfield, along first base, third base, club level, grandstands, up in the rafters – you name it I’ve sat there. Each time, has been a different experience. The suite experience was by far my most luxurious experience but I saw Giancarlo Stanton hit a homer from that section so that made me happy. The food, the atmosphere, the drinks, and the things to do make this ballpark my number one. I have arrived in the Bronx to maximize the pregame hours and realized that if this is your first trip to Yankee Stadium, you definitely want to get there early and stay late. Get there early. Head to the Yankees Museum and then to monument park, get your drinks, get your food, enjoy the game. Then you have to head to the bars after and enjoy. I know many people have talked about how expensive ballparks are lately, and I know the idea of New York for a baseball game can see out of many sports fans’ price range. I have done it for cheap, and I’ve done it the expensive route. Plan ahead, do your research (you can always message me for tips and tricks on how to make this happen) and have the best time for you and your family or friends.
There you have it. There’s my top three. Are you surprised? I will be headed to some new ballparks this spring and summer and I have a feeling you may be surprised by a few of them. Baseball season is upon us, everyone. Where do you think I’ll be headed?
