Back to Fenway we go! Oh Boston, you are one charming town. Is it offensive to call you a town? I mean technically you are a city but you are so cute and charming, and the movie The Town takes place in Boston, so yeah. ANYWAY you are so cute. I paid another visit to do Fenway again, and knock around town with my girl Kailee Cavaliere of The Sports Passport. If you want some tips from my first trip, read all about the Fenway area here. This trip, I took in some new sites, new hotels, and all new everything. Here are some must-dos during your next trip to Boston.

Stay

Onyx – Kailee and I spent the first night at the Onyx Kimpton Hotel which is in walking distance to TD Garden. Reasonable rates and the proximity to restaurants and TD Garden makes Onyx a great place to stay.

The Verb Fenway – You know I’ve talked about The Verb from my last trip, but it you plan to spend the majority of your time in the Fenway area, and are baseball fan, AND love music nostalgia, The Verb is definitely for you. You can book a stadium room giving you a view of the ballpark! It’s definitely a good spot and obviously walking distance to Fenway.

Eat

Banners Kitchen and Tap – Pregame drinks before a Bruins or Celtics game at Banners is where it’s at. Even if you don’t have game tickets, you can watch the game on any of the TVs throughout the restaurant. Banners is located right outside TD Garden, so you don’t need to count for travel time between pregame and the game.

Citrus and Salt – This Texas girl loves Mexican food, and the guacamole and lobster tacos at Citrus and Salt are AMAZING. I won’t lie, I was a bit nervous to get Mexican food in Boston (yes, TexMex is supreme), but I was obsessed with the menu and the restaurant itself is so colorful and pretty. Located in Back Bay, you have to get to Citrus and Salt for some fun cocktails and the guacamole. Try the Becky Juice and the Sorbet Mimosa! Matter of fact, try all the cocktails, you will thank me later.

Yvonne’s – Want a cozy, sultry dinner? Yvonne’s feels like a speakeasy with fun paintings of celebrities on the wall. This restaurant can serve as either date night with your SO or a fun dinner with the girls (or guys). You can order one large cocktail for the table if you are a group, or a large cocktail for two (equals about 4 drinks). If I must recommendation, try the Brussels sprouts, Shrimp 65 and Sujuk pita. Yvonne’s is a tapas style restaurant and Kailee and I spilt 3 plates. They say two plates per person, but we were good with 3 since the pita is about the size of a small personal sized pizza. Do yourself a favor and don’t skip Yvonne’s.

Terra – Located in Eataly, Terra was a great pre baseball spot, if you’re in the mood for pasta. I feel like you can never go wrong with Eataly, whether you want pizza and wine, or a full-on pasta meal. I had the Bucatini Alli Carbonara with a glass of rose. It was incredible! You can get from Terra to Fenway with use of the subway which is $2.50/ride, and more cost effective than an Uber.

Tatte – I’ve got a coffee shop for you and there are several across Boston. All the pastries, coffees and teas, you don’t need Starbucks or Dunkin (I swear, Dunkin is on ever corner). Try the spiced chai with oat milk and the cinnamon pecan rose. Perfect breakfast before some sight seeing. Or if you sleep through breakfast, you can grab lunch or dinner!

Play

The Seaport – Such a beautiful area with all the spots to brunch. Perfect for Sunday Funday!

Harvard/Cambridge – You have to at least go see Harvard. If you rent a car for your trip go out and see the sights!

Afternoon Tea at the Four Seasons – Want to have a nice tea with your girlfriends? The Four Seasons offers Afternoon Tea with champagne, finger sandwiches and an assortment of desserts. You can also spike your tea with a perfectly paired cordial. I have nothing more to say other than this is a must for the ladies.

Fenway – Play ball! I mean, isn’t this one of the reasons you’re going to Boston? Make sure you check the Red Sox schedule to see who they’re playing. If the Yankees are in town, you definitely want to plan ahead. 😏

Heading to Boston soon? Let me know!
