Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
I cannot believe how fast this year flew by and all the changes it brought to me in my personal life and in business. Normally I share my 10 Things I’m Thankful for in Sports every Thanksgiving. This year I’ve decided to share my top 10 things I’m thankful for in 2017. I’ve shared more about my personal life on TheSportsBrat.com lately, so it just feels more on point to share what I’m thankful for in general, but don’t worry, sports will be in there of course! So let’s get to it.
- Friends and Family.
This year has brought so many new friendships the I’m so grateful for. I’ve also been able to grow my relationship with B and with my family and I know it’s cliché but friends and family really are everything to me.
2. New Partnerships.
I had no idea how many new partners I’d get to work with this year. I feel beyond grateful for each and every one of them and for the opportunity to not only share my new finds with you all but to have such great partners in business.
3. College Football
I have been a little frustrated/bored with the NFL in the last couple of years. I can’t really even pinpoint why and I”m thankful they brought back celebrations this year but I’m so thankful for college football because there really isn’t anything the compares. I absolutely love going to college games and I’m so lucky that I got to go to a new venue and see another awesome SEC game.
I had the opportunity to volunteer at the first ever Operation Turkey Day for the Young and Brave Foundation in Dallas. It’s hard to articulate what the experience was like but I’m hoping to be able to volunteer more at Children’s. These kids and families and staff are truly special. I am SO grateful to be a part of OTD!
5. Stadium-Approved Bags
Sounds silly, but I’m so happy that there are so many options for stadium-approved handbags now. You have no idea how many people I’ve seen leaving/throwing away their bags at games. No need to worry anymore, plus the designers have created awesome bags!
6. Photographers and Videographers
If you guys watch my IG stories, you know I’m not exactly a model or graceful, some may in fact call me a bit of a mess (I wouldn’t want to be any other way). But when it comes to the blog, I am beyond grateful for my photog and video amigas who somehow magically make me seem professional and even photogenic! Elizabeth, Becca and Rachel, you’re true magicians, THANK YOU!
The absolute love of my life, Stan. There was a time I was really struggling with depression and anxiety and I remember starting a gratitude journal to try to help and there were days where the only thing I could manage to write was “Stan.” He’s been such a joy, such a safe place and motivation for me to get up and function on those hard days. The joy he brings others when we’re out and about makes me so grateful.
8. Tread Barre
I’m a normal girl who struggles with self-love and I truly fell off the workout and health wagon. I kept trying different things and I am beyond thankful that I decided to try Tread Barre, the vibe, energy and instructors have totally revived my love of fitness and for that I’m so thankful.
9. Hallmark Movie Channel
It’s true. If I’m feeling down I turn on two things, sports or Hallmark. I am obsessed with Christmas, I love the holidays. Everything about it. If I could live at the North Pole, I would. So every year I find myself smiling to the Hallmark channel and therefore, I’m super grateful that it exists.
10. The Sports Brat Community
You guys are the best. I am so lucky to have people to hang out with on social and on the podcast. (Shout out to Mike also, THANK YOU for joining the podcast, it’s been a blast). I can honestly say that this is the coolest thing ever and I never thought I’d be able to write, host a show, shoot videos all about stuff I love! This has exceeded all expectations and mostly, I feel so supported and happy to have you all as a part of this community. THANK YOU!
There you have it, the 10 Things I’m Thankful For, it’s so hard to limit it to just 10 but I like to keep some of them silly to balance out the sappy stuff 😉 But overall I have to say I am so happy to be in a place where I am so thankful. Thanks for letting me share and have a wonderful Thanksgiving! xx
