I have the cutest DIY project: sporty bookends.

It’s that time of year when I’m bored.  The World Cup was such a little delight this summer but its over.  Now I’m staring far off for football season.  I know, I know, summer is for baseball.  Here’s the thing, baseball is outdoors in 80 degree weather with an ice cold beer.  That is not possible where I live.  So I’m not as into going to baseball games and baseball on TV isn’t my favorite either.  Instead I’ve decided to embrace baseball with a little DIY.  Check out these sporty bookends using baseballs.

How cute are these sporty bookends?

The baseballs are perfect because they’re subtle but such a cute addition to your home or office.  Here’s what you need.

  • Glue Gun or Gorilla Glue
  • 6 baseballs

And they take no time at all to assemble.  All you do is glue the baseballs together at their points of contact.  Wait for them to dry before you glue the third baseball on the top.

How cute are these?! I keep them in my kitchen to keep my cookbooks up.  It’s a simple and fun DIY to do on your own or with kids. I went to Dick’s to get the baseballs but you can probably find them at any sporting goods store.  They’re also relatively inexpensive.

You could replicate this tennis balls or even pool balls or any sporting ball that’s perfectly round and small enough. Test the glue to make sure you get the right one.  I switched from hot glue to Gorilla glue because it was a little weak.

Have fun and if you make these sporty bookends tag me in your pics! And if you have any other sporty DIY ideas send them my way!

Have a great week everyone!
