AH I am so excited to write this post.  I was shopping for some cards at my favorite little card shop when I saw this adorable little bucket list journal.  It got me thinking about all the things I want to do in life and then of course it really got me thinking about all the sports things I’ve either checked off or still have yet to check off on my bucket list.  I figured I’d share what’s still remaining on my list with you all for a little vacation from Monday.

Sports Bucket List

  1. The Kentucky Derby – I have a post coming up about this (I am obsessed with the dress I found).  I don’t think I’m alone when I talk about pretty dresses, high heels, big hats and endless mint juleps.  My family takes a trip to a sporting event every year and I am seriously working the Derby angle for 2018. For now I’ll just dress up and have some friends over and watch the greatest 2 minutes in sports from my living room.
  2. The NASCAR Racing Experience – YOU GUYS I’m going on 4/30.  That’s in just over 2 weeks.  I get to race a real race car at Texas Motor Speedway. Don’t worry, there’s an educational part first, I think an instructor is with me at all times, oh and I totally paid up for the in-car video.  I’ll definitely be sharing that footage!
  3. The Iron Bowl – The infamous game that alternates home-field advantage between Auburn and Alabama every year is high on my list.  If you’ve ever seen footage, this looks like one heck of a football game no matter who wins.
  4. Indy 500 – Who knew I was so into racing huh? Well I actually really like it.  Trust me, races are incredible in person, way different than watching on TV, plus they pull out all the stops at the Indy 500.
  5. NASCAR race at Talladega – If you haven’t seen Talladega nights you may not get it.  But a large part of me dreams of a camper, bud light and a lot of denim as I cheer on the drivers at this race.  Who wants to road trip?!
  6. Waste Management Open – Worst name ever but the 16th hole in Phoenix is supposedly the biggest party in golf.  I am dying to check it out.
  7. The Masters – I’m a newer golf fan, but mostly I’m drawn to the scenery and the tradition of Augusta.  Plus, no matter who wins, it’s such a big deal that it would be cool to see it in person.
  8. A race in Monaco – back to the race thing but my friend turned me on to the documentary Senna and ever since, I’ve been dying to go to Monaco for a road race.
  9. The Olympics – I’ve never been and I would love to go to both the summer and the winter Olympics at some point.  Hopefully somewhere cool to cross off some travel bucket list items as well.
  10. Byron Nelson Golf Tournament – This is a newer addition to my list because I’m Dallas-based now but I actually think I have tickets for this year (fingers crossed).
  11. North Carolina vs. Duke at Cameron – I’ve been able to work on some of these games while at ESPN but I’d love to go as a fan, plus it would give me a reason to check out my favorite old stomping grounds in coastal Carolina after!
  12. UFC Match – Any one, no I’d like to go see Conor McGregor vs. Floyd Mayweather obviously but since I’ve never been to one, I’ll settle for any good match up.
  13. Wimbledon – Full disclosure, I don’t know much about tennis but living in NYC I got to go to the US Open a couple of times and it was a blast.  So to me, the most iconic tourney would be Wimbledon, plus I loved the movie so much its just a must for me at some point.
  14. Liverpool vs. Manchester United – As a soccer fan, this is one of the most epic rivalries.  I studied abroad in Barcelona so I got a little taste of European soccer but I’d love to see this game in person.
  15. Opening Day at the Rangers – I’ve never been to opening day, I’ve been to the World Series and plenty of games in between, but there’s something so exciting and cool about the first game of a new season.  Hopefully I can make that happen next year.
  16. Plexiglas seats at an NHL game – Again, I’ve been to hockey games but I wanna pound on the glass as they slam into it.  I want to see the fights up close in person and I want to be able to see which players are missing teeth.
  17. High School Football in Allen, Texas – I’ve heard things about high school football in Texas and I am dying to finally make it to a game in nearby Allen this fall.  I hear the stadium is larger than most college stadiums.
  18. A rugby match in Australia – I’ve never been to Australia so if I ever make it, a rugby game is at the top of my list.  I can’t believe how these guys play with no pads.  I have to see it in person.
  19. Houston Rodeo – I’ve been to the rodeo in Denver but I’ve learned that this is the highest paying and therefore the biggest deal when it comes to Rodeo.  I have got to check it out.
  20. WWE WrestleMania – I am DYING to go check out a WWE event.  I am a diehard fan of Total Divas so this is super high on my list. They are such badasses.

I think that sums it up for now but I’m sure I’m forgetting something or that I’ll add to the list as I check these off! I’d love to hear what’s on your sports bucket list!
