How to Pick the Right Stadium Bag

First things first, if you’re new to sporting events and/or my “work,” you may not be aware that there is a strict stadium bag policy.  I always link to the NFL’s policy because they were the early adopters and have the strictest guidelines that most other stadiums/venues have now adopted, or soon will.  Chances are you will attend some event that will have these restrictions so I’m here to show you how to pick the right stadium bag.  Well, there’s not real right or wrong if you’re in the guidelines but this guide will help you find the right bag for your style.

Let’s face it, we all have a unique personal style and we don’t want to have to change that on game day.  So check out these options to see which best fits your personal style and then you will be well on your way to finding the right stadium bag.

The Rule-Follower

This is no name-calling session, but we have to be honest about who we are, so we can identify the right styles for us.  I’ve always been a rule-follower.  I’m not perfect but I’ve felt better just knowing I was in bounds and not having to worry about getting in trouble, or in this case, not getting in to the game.  If you’re a rule-follower here is your best option:

The clear stadium bag

Clear stadium bags have come a LONG way! You don’t have to carry a crazy grocery tote anymore.  I love these options.  The first is from Cotton & Confetti. The middle one is from SheerGear.com. I love this one because it’s so big.  The last one is from Fave4 Hair and it’s only $24!  All of these will keep you 100% approved and there’s no doubt you can get into the game.

However, the only issue with these clear babies is that you can’t hide anything…like your tampons, for example.  So I recommend grabbing a cute little pouch like one of these to keep some things private while you’re rocking your rule-abiding and oh-so-cute clear stadium bag!

The Wannabe Rebel

Ok, I actually may fit more into this category.  This is the gal who’s done her research, knows the rules and knows you can get away with a non-clear bag but its got to be tiny…as in they can be 4.5″ x 6.5″.  However, you may have gotten some push back because each security guard is a different person with a different vision of how small it should be.  Confession: I told a security guard back in 2013 that I worked for the league and therefore knew my tiny bag was ok…and he bought it!  Truth is, you’re pretty much safe if its the size of your hand or smaller.  Here are some that I LOVE and that I’ve successfully taken into the game.

The Glorified Wristlet

The first picture is from a new line from Clutch Women.  And the creator is an NFL wife so we KNOW she KNOWS the policy.  You can also check out this post I did on clearing up the bag policy.  The second is from the Dooney&Bourke Sports Collection. PS they have sizes for every day too, if you want to show your support around town and not just on game day.  The last image is the exact bag I lied about to the security guards at the stadium in 2013.  It was a total splurge, but to this day its my go to on game day, I take the strap off for fancy nights out and I even use it as a travel pouch in my larger carry-on tote when I’m on the plane!  I love it.  You can shop these styles below.

The Rule-Breaker

These next bags are for the gal who likes to live on the absolute edge.  Maybe you just need your cell phone, maybe you would sacrifice anything for fashion.  Either way shop these amazing styles linked below for the gal who doesn’t give a F*&%.

I am so into a fanny pack/belt bag its not even funny!  I love having my hands and shoulders free.  I haven’t worn this badboy to a game yet but I bet it would be fine because its pretty small.  Here are some other styles I’m loving for the fashionista/game day rebel.
