He’s an All-American defensive lineman out of Missouri. He’s SEC Defensive Player of the Year. He’s an NFL hopeful in this year’s draft. And yesterday, he came out in an interview on ESPN’s “Outside the Lines.” Assuming that he is drafted in May, Sam could become the first openly gay player in the history of the NFL. I have mad respect for a person’s ability to “own their truth” and to speak so courageously. And I’m happy that Sam’s received an outpour of support! Here is his interview.
