I started getting botox (well Dysport) in August of 2020. I never brought it up because I didn’t think I was going to stick with it and wasn’t quite sure if I was even going to need it. I will be honest when I say I didn’t think I needed it nor understood why women got it. Now I have it and now I get it. I’m kind of low maintenance when it comes to beauty treatments. I’ve had four facials in my life (I know, I’m too ADD to lay still), but as I’m getting older I’m looking into more treatments to incorporate into my biannual treatments.

When I first started thinking about Dysport I went with my friend to an appointment and asked every question under the sun. Shout out to Braidee for answering every question, sometimes twice. But I’m definitely glad I tried it, I’ve been in a second time and will be due in a few months (right now I only need it like twice a year). I get treated just in my forehead and around my eyes. That’s the only place I need at this time. I don’t see myself doing any other things to my face like fillers or anything. Just the botox. I will incorporate some additional beauty treatments to my routine. Here are three treatments I want to start incorporating regularly, in addition to the Dysport.

Microneedling/Vampire Facial

Okay, so I will tell you now, I don’t know the real difference between all of these treatments but I know they vary in degree of how much the resurface the skin. I will try anything at least once, but this may be the last thing I try this year. I am getting older, so the Vampire Facial may happen. I hear it does boos collagen in the face and I’m big on collagen these days.

Microdermabrasion

Microdermabrasion has been on my to do list for a while. But I almost rather do the chemical peel first. I do have some acne scaring from my teenage years that I would like to fade. I’ve been trying all of the creams to fade them with no real luck. So, microdermabrasion is on the to do list. I have been going back and forth between microdermabrasion and a chemical peel as to which one I should try first.

Chemical Peel

I really want to try the chemical peel and really get that firs dead layer of skin to peel off. I know this will require me to probably stay away as my face will be shedding so I’ll probably do it over a school break or something. Can you imagine one of my students being like, “Ms. Hunt’s face is falling off!”? Ha! I’d never hear the end of it. I will try a chemical peel first and I of course will document everything I try here in the Beauty department of The Sports Brat. First up: Chemical Peel. I’ll keep you posted.
