Okay, I know I’m late to the party but, I finally tried the Billie razor after I’ve seen so many influencers post about it. I decided to try it for myself. I have been using the BIC Venus Soleil for about four years. I remember getting a couple packs of them in my Create and Cultivate swag bag in 2017 and became OBSESSED with them. They have such a good shave and my legs always felt silky smooth thanks to those shea butter bars above the blades. One day a couple weeks ago I was scrolling through IG saw a Billie ad and said okay let’s try it. I need to buy new razors anyway so why not try it. If I hate it, I can go back to old faithful. Y’all….

First of all. I ordered my Smooth Operator set (razor, holder, replacement heads, shave cream and lotion) on May 1. I figured it would probably take a week to get to me. No. It didn’t deliver until May 15. Thank goodness I don’t wear shorts very often.

Once I finally received my order, I immediately put the razor to the test. Here are my initial thoughts.

First up it’s important to know that Billie prides itself on being clean and says they are “better beauty basics for your medicine cabinet”. If clean beauty is what you are looking for, absolutely grab yourself some Billie.

What I got:

Smooth Operator Set – $35. **Note I can no longer find this bundle on the website, so I listed the prices of everything for you.

Thoughts on the Razor:

The razor itself is $9 and is comparable to razors you purchase in store. In my case, the Bic Soleil Glide. On day one this was my thought: “It’s a good razor. I won’t say it’s mind blowing. It’s a razor that does its job.” On day four, I thought, “I love this razor”.

Thoughts on the Shave Cream:

I prefer an actual shaving cream. The consistency of the Shave Lotion felt like shampoo and you are supposed to work it into a lather that never really happened for me. I wouldn’t purchase the shave lotion again. The shave lotion is $8 purchased separately.

Thoughts on Dry-Bye Body Lotion:

So, I have dry skin and when I shave my legs, my legs need extra moisture. The Dye Bye seemed promising until I woke up the next morning and my legs were as if I didn’t even put lotion on. My body composition my just require a heavy duty lotion. The lotion is $12 on its own.

Overall:

So overall, do you absolutely need to go out and by the Billie Razor or the entire set? No. Actually I would honestly just buy the razor and replacement heads. I have four replacement heads so I’m set for a bit. If you absolutely want to get the shave cream and lotion then do it! The razor is worth it. Honestly I feel all razors are around 9 bucks. You can have replacement heads automatically delivered to you for $9 a month. It doesn’t hurt to try it. There are some other Billie products I would like to try like the Super Salve tinted lip balm, Wonder Wipes (make up removing) and the Sudsy Body Wash. I don’t regret trying the Billie Razor at all, like I said I have replacement heads, and I’m set for a bit. I will more than likely sign up for the refill subscription out of convenience. Another selling point is that Billie is a clean beauty brand and I know many people are trying to clean up their skincare routines, and Billie is the first that I know of, doing clean shaving. Like I said, give Billie a try – I did. It may work out better for you.
