Former New England Patriot, Aaron Hernandez, was indicted on a first-degree murder charge in the death of 27-year-old Odin Lloyd. Lloyd’s body was found June 17th in an industrial park in North Attleborough, Massachusetts, about a mile from Hernandez’s home.
Hernandez, pleaded not guilty to murder and weapons charges in district court in June, and he is being held without bail. Hernandez’s hearing this afternoon lasted 10 minutes. The case will be dismissed from District Court after Hernandez has been arraigned in Superior Court on the indictment, Judge Stephen Ostrach said. He set a further hearing in his court for Aug. 30.
This means that he won’t be allowed to dispute the prosecution until his criminal trial.
Hernandez is also under investigation for allegedly participating in a 2012 double homicide in Boston, The Boston Globe has reported.
