5 Must Haves for the Perfect Homegate

Homegating is where it’s at these days and I have the perfect homegate must haves down pat. If you’re anything like me, I will be hosting homegates for NCAA March Madness and of course NBA playoffs. In order to have the best watch party experience, you will need a few items that not only make life easier, but you will prove that you can homegate like a pro. I have everything you need to host your perfect homegate.

Sonos Beam

Since we can’t be at the game, why not make sure the sound is amplified. The Sonos Beam gives you the sound quality that makes you feel like you are at the game. I love watching sports and movies with the Beam on because regular sound on the television doesn’t do the game or a movie much justice. The Sonos Beam’s 3D sound quality really ups the ante in the homegate experience. The Sonos Beam takes minutes to set up with only two chords and the Sonos app that walks you through all of the instructions. The Sonos app is compatible with both Apple and Android users. If you don’t have anything else for your homegate, make sure your viewing experience is top notch when it comes to sound and check out the Beam today. PS: Take a look at the Sonos Move, a more compact and portable speaker for when we are back to tailgating! You can also pair the Beam and Move together to really have the sounds of the stadium wherever you go!

Interactive Games

For those that aren’t really there for the game but need additional stimulus while they eat, create some fun bingo cards that incorporate the game’s activity. For example, take bets on what may happen during the game. For example, have guests decide on things like, who wins the jump ball, which team scores first, the overall spread, which team has the lead at the half, etc. If you’re watching football, grab a deck of football poker, and let the outcome of the game determine who wins.

Themed Décor

Anyone watching from home needs to be well stocked on game day décor. You don’t need to make this super cheesy either. Of course, at The Sports Brat, we keep things elevated. If you’re homegating for March Madness, have platters, plates and serving utensils in your favorite teams. Check out Tailgating Central for some of my favorite items. I also have found several additional items from Amazon like, football and basketball shaped charcuterie boards. Whatever you decide, make it fun.

Revo Cooler

The Revo Cooler is a fun way to keep drinks on display. The design makes it super easy to set up a mimosa bar, or cocktail bar. You can even get creative and use it to set up a nacho bar. Check out the Revo Cooler today!

Food

What’s a homegate without food? Let’s be honest it’s not a good homegate if the food isn’t on point. Go ahead and grab some fun favorites like jalepeno queso sliders, a classic cheese ball, or even a grazing table. Whatever you decide food wise, have fun with it and create a theme. Brat Tip: Make sure your food is accessible and close by, for all guests. If you have viewers watching the game in different areas, have a food station in all viewing areas. This way you have social distancing, and guests don’t have to leave the room they are in!

That’s it! Five easy items to make your game day experience from home enjoyable. Have the best homegate ever, and tag me in all of your homegate experiences on Instagram!
