<\/a>Sausage Stuffing Balls<\/p><\/div>\n
Here’s the thing about my Friendsgiving…I wanted all the recipes to be tailgate-friendly, meaning no need for utensils!! WAHOO! \u00a0So not only were these so tasty but what a great way to bring your turkey day favorite to the tailgate.<\/p>\n
Ingredients:<\/p>\n
- \n
- 1 lb pork sausage<\/li>\n
- 2 tbsp butter<\/li>\n
- 3 stalks celery (chopped)<\/li>\n
- 1 cup diced\u00a0yellow onion (Whitney calls for a red onion but I swapped it out because I don’t love red onions)<\/li>\n
- 2 garlic cloves (crushed)<\/li>\n
- \u00bc\u00a0tsp salt<\/li>\n
- \u00bd\u00a0tsp black pepper<\/li>\n
- 2 tbsp fresh sage (chopped)<\/li>\n
- 1 loaf or 6 cups\u00a0potato bread<\/a>\u00a0(cubed)<\/li>\n
- 2 eggs (whisked)<\/li>\n
- \u00bd\u00a0cup chicken broth<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
Preparation:<\/p>\n
- \n
- Pre heat the oven to 350\u00b0F.<\/li>\n
- Cook\u00a0the sausage in a large skillet on the stove over medium heat.<\/li>\n
- Once the sausage is cooked through, remove from the skillet\u00a0and place in a large mixing bowl.<\/li>\n
- Place the skillet\u00a0back on the stove and add the butter.<\/li>\n
- Once the butter is melted, add the celery and onion.<\/li>\n
- Cook for 4-5\u00a0minutes, then add the crushed garlic, salt, pepper and sage. Cook for an additional 1-2 minutes.<\/li>\n
- Remove from heat, and add the celery and onion mixture to the sausage.<\/li>\n
- Add the\u00a0bread and toss.<\/li>\n
- Add the whisked eggs and chicken broth.<\/li>\n
- Use your hands, or a large spoon, to mix everything together, then form\u00a0into 14-16 medium-sized balls.<\/li>\n
- Place the sausage stuffing balls in the oven and cook for 30-35 minutes.<\/li>\n
- Enjoy!<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
