I love the Super Bowl…DUH. And I could drone on and on about that but I think the most important thing is to get straight to the MVP of any Super Bowl party…the signature cocktail. I found this Red Rooibos Tea recipe in a magazine but I made it my own and you can tweak this perfectly red bevy if you’re rooting for the Pats (see notes at the bottom).
Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup suit tea (I used the the Starbucks Youthberry tea)
- 3 tbsp. bourbon
- 2 tbsp. fresh grapefruit juice
- 1 1/2 tsp. grenadine
- 1 tbsp. soda water
Preparation:
- Pour tea into ice-cube tray and freeze at least 5 hours.
- Combine bourbon, juice and grenadine in a glass and stir.
- Add soda water and stir.
- Finally add ice and serve.
- Enjoy!
Fan tip: If you want to turn these blue or serve both varieties at your party, you can use grape juice or muddled blueberries and a berry tea instead. Food coloring is an option but I prefer natural.
Boozy tip: If you’re not a bourbon aficionado, try Basil Hayden’s. I stumbled on it and its super tasty in this drink (or on the rocks if you’re bold!)
