I’ve been back at it in the gym these last few weeks and that means I have one sore bod.  I’ve also been working hard on the blog, the redesign and the podcast.  So needless to say I’ve been one busy gal.  Add in my car accident and I was getting a little stressed out in all honesty.  I like to keep it real and truth is I can go-go-go a bit too much and end up crashing.

I’ve learned a thing or two on this journey and something that’s very important to me is to hit pause and take a break.  I’m sure you’re wondering where I’m going with this so I will tell you! I recently was able to head to Riviera Spa in Dallas for a day of relaxation and pampering.

I started with a massage.  I like a deep-tissue, that’s the athlete in me.  I like to get in there and work out the knots, pain or not.  And that’s exactly what I got.  Playing at the D-1 level, I’m used to torture via trainers and therapists but post-soccer I’ve only met 2 people who have been able to truly work out my deep muscle problems and one lives back in California so I only get to see Jen when I’m home visiting now 🙁 But the other happens to be at Riviera Spa.  And you are in luck because what can get very pricey is on special starting next week!

Next I got a facial.  I’m not a big facial fan but I do love the results so I have gotten a few in my life.  I will never forget the stuffing Jessica Payne telling me the most important part of make up is great skin and since I’m not so great at make up, I love having a facial to give me that nice foundation. Betsy gave me an incredible facial, I highly recommend her, just mention my name and she will give you the same treatment!

I finished with a pedicure from Michelle.  Now, most pedicures are the same but Michelle did an incredible job and for those who like a massage, she nailed it (pun intended)! I am a runner and a soccer player so true story I went into the training room in college and was complaining of ingrown toenails — not ideal for a soccer player.  My trainer looked at me, stuffed the cotton under them and then said “I think you need to get a pedicure.” And ever since then, I’ve taken care of my feet so they can perform when I need them too.
