This may be common sense to some of you if you grew up in the South, but as a California kid, I always opted for jeans or shorts so this was a foreign concept when I hit my first SMU tailgate. Ladies, I have to hand it to you, the boots and dress combo was SO cute. I still don’t own my first pair of cowboy boots but I can totally get on board with the dress trend.

First off, this dress is pretty perfect for any occasion. Yes its denim but you could dress it up with heels or even dress it way down for a pool party. But since I am the Sports Brat, of course my mind went to how can I wear this on game day. I’ve been dying for a cold shoulder or an off the shoulder dress but for some reason they just haven’t been super flattering. Well my patience paid off when I found this gem.
Outfit Details: Dress, sneakers, sunglasses.
The most important thing for me on game day is to be comfortable, the second is to stay true to my style and the third is to root for my team. Truth be told, I’m not a diehard fan of any particular team (except Stanford and Colorado) so I generally just adjust my color palate for the game I’m going to.
So for this look, you could choose a colored bag, bandana or sneakers to reflect your team spirit. Or even those cute tassel earrings everyone is wearing. I need to get a pair asap!
