The HomeLight Killington Cup is this Thanksgiving Weekend, November 27 and 28 in Killington, Vermont. If you are anything like me, I know nothing about skiing, but I tend to pretend like I do when I watch Winter X Games, but this is much different. Killington Cup will feature giant slalom and slalom races. Unsure of what that means? Slalom is an alpine event where the athletes will be skiing between poles or gates. Let’s take this weekend to get acquainted with women’s skiing, shall we?
Why and Who You Should Watch
Take a break from binge watching football and watch the ladies do work. This is an event you don’t want to miss and not to mention it’s great prep for the 2022 Winter Olympics. Like I mentioned before women’s skiing isn’t something I’m keen on, so this will give us all a sneak peek of what to expect when Team USA competes. We will all have a chance to start learning the skiing lingo for when the Winter Olympics come, we’ll all be able to school the boys on what is actually going on.
You don’t want to miss Mikaela Shiffrin, Paula Moltzan and Nina O’Brien. These ladies kill it. Important fact about Mikaela – she is a four-time HomeLight Killington Cup champion!
Let’s be honest, we don’t need a reason to cheer for the ladies.
Ticket Information
If you are in the Killington area and would like to check out the Cup, I highly suggest you grab a ticket here. General Admission tickets are $5/ day or $10 for the weekend. There is a limited amount of VIP tickets available due to social distancing protocols. 100% of your ticket purchase also benefits the Killington World Cup Foundation which supports athlete hospitality and provides grants to bolster winter sports infrastructure and access to winter sports throughout the region.
You can catch the action beginning at 12 pm eastern on Peacock!
