Get ready, Las Vegas is about to be THE sports destination in the world and I can’t wait for the NFL to make it’s debut in the fall. I recently went to Las Vegas for some hockey and had the best time. First of all, let me explain to you that Vegas Golden Knights does everything Vegas style. I mean, I was greeted by a show girl why heading to my seat. That’s Vegas, baby. Even though the Golden Knights lost to the Carolina Hurricanes that night, I had an amazing time that had me planning my trip back in the fall before I had even left. If you’re planning to go to Las Vegas for some hockey, or even football starting in August, I have a few tips for you. I have where to stay, hang, play and of course eat!

If you’ve never been to Vegas or have always thought, “It’s not my scene”, you’ve got another thing coming. Vegas doesn’t have to be all-day parties and night clubs and the worst hangover of your life the next day. Oh no, you can make Vegas what you want it to be. You can eat at all the restaurants. Have a favorite Food Network Chef, well I’m sure they have a restaurant in one of the hotels. Are you a Bravo Fan Girl or Boy? Have a drink or several at Vanderpump Cocktail Garden – everything Lisa Vanderpump touches turns to gold. Still overwhelmed by all Vegas has to offer? Here’s a beginner’s guide just for you.

Stay: Park MGM

I have stayed at the Wynn, and SLS (now Sahara Las Vegas) multiple times. This trip, I stayed at the Park MGM and I now have a new favorite place to stay. It’s a quieter hotel with the best location. Literally, across the street from T-Mobile arena, Park MGM has a self check in (what?!) that makes getting into your room a breeze. I was completely thrown off when Alana and I first showed up and I saw that was how to check in. But y’all, this was genius. It was quick and easy. The rooms are spacious and, quiet. I love that, considering Vegas is crazy and loud no matter what you’re doing so heading back to your room gives you a good opportunity to wind down and relax before another day. I will definitely be staying at Park MGM again in the future!

Play: Everywhere

So, Vegas has something for everyone. Whether you like to party, see a show, or gamble, there’s something for you. This trip I got to see Cirque du Soleil’s Michael Jackson: ONE, thanks to our concierge at Park MGM with the hook up. Brat Tip: Check with the concierge for some recommendations. They may even have discounted tickets available for shows. So glad we saw this show. One, I love Michael Jackson and I love Cirque du Soleil, so combine the two and I am there, honey. The show itself is immersive and highly entertaining. Two, things are happening all around you – moonwalking on the wall?! What?! I don’t wanna give a thing a way, but you need to see this show. You have to. You’ll want to, and you won’t be sorry. Check it out, it’s at the Mirage.

See: T-Mobile Arena

You think showgirls are just for the Strip? You are sadly mistaken. Yes! We were greeted by a Las Vegas Showgirl at T-Mobile Arena and from that moment I knew it was about to be a great night. The game day scene at T-Mobile is definitely up there on the experiences rating scale. From start to finish you are engaged in that arena. From the countdown to doors opening to the Fortress (that’s what they call it out there in Vegas), to warm-ups, to the end of the game, you are in it. There’s no down time. Unless you consider intermission  down time. Even then – you’re in it. The Golden Knights in game media crew keeps the crowd involved no matter what. If you are looking to go to a Golden Knights game or even check out your team on the road in Vegas, definitely make this trip a priority. You will not be disappointed!

Eat: All of it!

Okay, so I’m as basic as they come. You can call me a Basic Brat if you want. One of my favorite restaurants in Vegas is Giada, inside the Cromwell. If you love Italian food, or are a fan of Giada De Laurentiis, make Giada one of your dinner spots. The cacio e Pepe comes in a cheese wheel and feeds two. That alone is enough to go. Even if you’re traveling with a group of girlfriends or your significant other, Giada is the spot for your nicer dinner.

Other favorite eateries and places to hang include:

Eataly

Black Tap

The Crack Shack

Beerhaus

The Chandelier

Vanderpump Cocktail Garden

Searsucker

The Dorsey

No matter what you decide to do while you’re in Vegas, I guarantee you’ll have the time of your life! Never been? Want to go? Calm me! Let’s do a girls trip! Until, the next trip…

XOXO
