I don’t know about any of you but I was glued to the TV early Sunday morning watching arguably the classiest athlete of all-time, Roger Federer, win his 8th Wimbledon Championship and 19th Grand Slam.  I will be honest with you, I do not know a lot about tennis.  In fact, I did have to ask B a couple of scoring questions yesterday while we were watching.

While I was living in NYC I was fortunate enough to be invited to the US Open which takes place primarily over Labor Day in Queens.  It’s a wonderful event for even the non-tennis fan.  However, I would argue, that one trip to a tennis match or tournament makes it pretty tough to not want to attend another.  Basically what I’m saying is, I have a lot to learn but I do enjoy watching and attending tennis matches.

Aside from the incredible endurance and athleticism, it’s quite the spectator experience.  For example, at the US Open, the people watching and fashion is incredible.  Although, I don’t think anything will top Wimbledon.  There’s something about British culture that just exudes class and even at their tennis tournament, attendees are dressed to the nines.  Check out my post from a couple years ago on stunner Jelena Ristic…now Djokovic.

So, since this is my chose area of expertise, I couldn’t shake the idea of doing a post all about what to wear to a tennis match.  It’s totally different from many of the other sports I cover so for me, it was super fun putting this one together.

 Option 1: Jumpsuit

I LOVE this jumpsuit.  It’s beyond comfy, it’s a one-stop-shop for an outfit, oh and you can wash it, no dry cleaning required.  I love it.  And it is the perfect look for a tennis match, plus it’s comfy.  I wear mine to work.  When I would go tot he US Open in NYC it was after work, so this is the perfect transition piece as well.  The sandals are also so comfortable.  The heel is low but still chic.

I’m also obsessed with these cute earrings from McCauley + Luck.  She dropped off several before my Mexico trip so expect to see me as an earring gal now! Check them out on IG: @McCauleyandLuck

Option 2: Dress

B and I had to take a trip to the outlet mall to get him some new work shoes.  So naturally I did a little perusing of my own and when I saw this white dress I knew it would be perfect for a tennis match. It screams “wear me to the US Open.”  It also says “wear me all year round in Texas.”  And because I’m a gal and I love a deal (it was only $34) I snagged it in plaid too!

The plaid is so cute year round too, just add some boots or tights.  And did I mention, its beyond comfy?!

Ok that does it for this post on What to Wear to a Tennis Match.  But I think I’m going to try to get to more tennis events or at least post about them because it’s such a great game day (and fashion) experience.

Have a great week everyone! Don’t forget I have a HUGE announcement this week on the podcast!
