It’s officially October!  And if you know anything about me, it’s that I LOVE fall.  So naturally, I took home pumpkins from Central Market right when they put them out.  I snagged 2 pie pumpkins and one mini white pumpkin.

I don’t have the step by step for each but essentially I started with the football pumpkin.  I used brown craft paint from Michaels.  I painted one coat, let it completely dry and did one more coat.  Then I took a smaller brush and used white craft paint to draw the laces. I finished by painting the stem but you could cut it down or decorate it any way you want.

Next up I took a stab at the helmet/football player.  Look, I am extremely unartistic but I love doing crafts.  I didn’t have a stencil I just kinda went for it, so first I used a pencil to outline the helmet on the pumpkin, then I painted it in with white and painted the whites of the eyes.  I painted 3 coats for the helmet since the white is a little lighter than the brown.

Once the white had completely dried, I drew the face mask in black, added the pupils to the eyes, the eyebrows, and the eye black.  Then I used pink to paint the stripes on and the nose.  Lastly, I added a little mouth.

For added flare, I attempted a little “TSB” logo on the side.  Like I said, I’m no artist so it’s all in good fun 🙂

I saved the easiest for last, but the little referee pumpkin was the easiest! Take the mini white pumpkin and just alternate painting the grooves with black paint. I used two coats again.

You could also use some glitter, sparkles, ribbons, pipe cleaners, etc to take these to the next level!
